Hanna Pálya

I’m a researcher at the Centre for the Governance of AI, where I work on threat modelling for AI-enabled biological risks. I’m based in London.

Before GovAI, I worked on DNA synthesis screening with Fourth Eon Biosecurity and the Centre for Long-Term Resilience, where I scoped what a government research programme on predicting the function of DNA sequences could look like. I’m on pause from a PhD in mathematical epidemiology at the University of Warwick’s Institute for Global Pandemic Planning, where I worked on early outbreak detection from symptom-based data. I studied biology and philosophy at the University of St Andrews.
